Bullet Casting

Casting your own bullets is not only an enjoyable extension to the shooting sport, it allows the reloader a way to save a considerable amount of money on the single most expensive component - the bullet. Certain competitions such as metal plate and cowboy action shooting require the use of cast bullets.

Clark County Gun Club has bullet casting and reloading equipment for our yearly members to use whenever they want (although reservations are strongly recommended).

Visit our benefits page to see what else you're missing by not being a member of Clark County Gun Club!

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a full-year CCGC member in good standing
  • Successfully complete the CCGC Introduction to Bullet Casting class

  • Scheduling

Anyone meeting the requirements can use the CCGC casting equipment at anytime during normal business hours. We strongly urge you to make a reservation prior to coming in for a casting session either by phone or using the on-line casting reservation request form.

    Bullet Moulds

CCGC has a long list of bullet moulds for your use - over 50 total. We have duplicates of most to improve your production rate while keeping the mould temperatures down. Excessive Mould temperatures causes frosting and makes it difficult to exact the bullets from the mould.

While CCGC primarily relies on equipment manufactured by RCBS. Requests for moulds in different configurations from other manufacturers will be considered.

See the complete list of bullet moulds available for your use.

    Lead Alloy

Because of the number of people able to use the CCGC casting equipment, we reserve the right to control the lead alloys going into the furnaces. This requires users to purchase the alloy from CCGC. See the pricing schedule for a breakdown.

If you have lead that you would like to cast, CCGC will trade your lead for ours as part of our Lead Trade-in Program.

    Casting Rules, Regulations & Procedures

Since the RCBS lead furnaces hold 20 pounds of toxic molten metal each and are held at approximately 750-850 degrees Fahrenheit, CCGC must put into place a set of rules to ensure a safe working environment.

We understand that many of you may be very experienced at casting, but to ensure safety (and manage our insurance rates), we must be absolutely positive and will insist on the following

    • Successful completion of the CCGC Introduction to Bullet Casting class is required prior to using the casting facilities

    • All posted safety requirements will be followed at all times

    • Because the furnaces are kept full at all times with known lead alloys and of their community nature, you are not allowed to add your own lead to the furnaces; all lead used must be purchased from CCGC

    • The CCGC Lead Trade-in Program allows you to exchange your lead for ours; see the program for details

    • While the main intent is bullet casting, you may also cast fishing sinkers, lead toys, etc. but you will need to provide those unique moulds
